Carmine Ferrelli

Carmine Ferrelli, 79, of 354 East Summit Street, Kent, a former Steubenville resident, died at 11:55 a.m. Saturday at the Windsor Medical Center in Canton following an extended illness.  He retired in 1962 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. after 32 years service as a helper in the tin mill.  He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Kent.  Surviving is his widow, the former Teresa Carrara, whom he married April 27, 1922.  Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Tony (Dora) Checea of Phoenix, Arizona, and Mrs. Anthony (Lillian) Silvidi of Kent; a brother Angelo Ferrelli of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.  He was born February 28, 1897 in Pettorano sul Gizio, Province, Aquila, Italy, a son of the late Liberatore and Emanuela Ferrelli.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa, and two brothers.  Friends may call at the Mosti Funeral Home 8-4 and 7-4 p.m. Tuesday; Mass of Christian Burial 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony's Church; the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Paul L. Richter officiating, Mt. Calvary Cemetery; Rosary 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
