Francesco Orsini, 85, of 340 Scenic Drive, died Monday, September 29, 1975 at 2:55 a.m. in the Royal Pavilion Extended Care Facility; patient 2 weeks and in failing health the past 2 months. Born March 28, 1890, in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Province Aquila, Italy, a son of the late Gelsimino and Margerita Orsini. Married December 1918 to the former, Michelina Tortis and she preceded him in death October 5, 1942. He retired in 1958 from the blacksmith shop of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a member of St. Pius X Church and the Knights of St. George Branch 285, Mingo Junction. Survived by a son, Joseph Orsini, Steubenville, with whom he resided; a brother, Nunzio Orsini, Toronto, 0hio; 2 granddaughters, Mrs.Steve (Michelina) Milligan, Steubenville, Miss Marie Orsini, of the residence, and a great grandson, George Joseph Milligan, Steubenville. Preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dan Orsini, Toronto, John Orsini, Plattsburgh, N.Y., and a sister, Mrs. Anna Williams, Plattsburgh, N.Y. Friends are being received at the Mosti Funeral Home, Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 1975 in St. Pius X Church with Rev. Fr. Robert A. Mascolino, celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Rosary Tuesday 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

The obit of Walter P. Orsini
Walter P. Orsini, 87 of Steubenville, died Tuesday December 25, 2007 in Kindred Hospital, Oakdale, PA. He was born May 16, 1920 in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy. He is the son of the late Joseph and Laura Bonitatibus Orsini. Walter is also preceded by two brothers, John and Pasquale and one sister, Nancy Valles. Surviving are his wife, Liana Bedeschi Orsini whom he married December 7, 1946. 2 sons, Joseph (Jo Ann) Orsini of Baltimore, MD and Robert (Darliss) Orsini of Richmond,OH. 3 daughters, Mary Ann Ziarko of Pittsburgh, Rita Orsini of Scio and Debbie (Jim) DiLeonardo of Pittsburgh. 8 grandchildren and 1 great grand daughter 2 sisters, Catherine Cellini of Italy and Antoinette Juliano of Steubenville. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran, a member of the American Legion Argonne Post 33, he worked for the former A&P for almost 23 years and he retired from Fort Steuben Metals, a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church ,was a strong humanitarian, a love for his family, classical music and an animal lover. Calling hours are today 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Timothy MaGuire celebrant and Fr. Edmundo Stabene Con Celebrant. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be a vigil service today at 3:45 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society.

Follansbee -- Mrs. Clara Ciccolella Orsini, 62, of 402 Main Street, died Friday morning in the St. John Hospital. A daughter of the late Liberatore and Julia Bonitatibus Ciccolella, she was born February 8, 1909, in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy. Mrs. Orsini managed the Ohio Valley Drive-In concession stand for 13 years and was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church and the Sisters of Garibaldi. Her husband, Pietro A. Orsini, preceded her in death in 1967. Surviving are two sons, L. A. (Libby) Orsini, business manager at West Liberty College, and Henry both of Follansbee; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Bridget) Andriano at home and Miss Julia Orsini, a teacher in Cambridge, Ohio; four brothers, Joseph P., Angelo, Anthony and Umbert, all of Follansbee; five sisters, Mrs. James (Eleanor) Weeda, Mrs. Guy (Rose) Fuscardo and Miss Mary Ciccolella, all of Follansbee, Mrs. Ann Buntrock
of Long Beach, California, and Mrs. Nick (Carmen) Fuscardo of Torrance, California, and three grandchildren. Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday and Monday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee. Rosary devotions will be held there Monday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church by Rev. Fr. Leonard Murray. Young was celebrant. A family diner will be held Saturday, January 26 in the Fort Steuben Hotel. Open house will be held Sunday, January 27 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the family residence. The Orsini's were married January 22, 1913, in the Mothers Catholic Church in Pettorano Sul Gizio Provience Aquila, Italy, by the late Fr. Lugi Voce. She was the former Donato Cepeilla. Mr. Orsini came to the United States from Italy in 1901 and was joined by Mrs. Orsini in 1914. They have since resided in Mingo Junction. They are both members of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Mr. Orsini was employed by the Carnegie Illinois Steel Corp., Mingo Junction, for 45 years. He was later employed by the Steel Service Inc., Steubenville, for 10 years. He retired in 1957. They have five daughters, Mrs. Alf (Edythe) Adyniec, Mrs. Bene (Raffaelena) Leone and Wanda Orsini, all of Mingo Junction, Mrs. George (Norma) McCain of Wheaton, Md., and Mrs. G. W. (Elia) Banks of Santa Barbara, Calif. They also have 12 grand children and 3 great grandchildren.

MINGO JUNCTION - Domenick P. Orsini, 71, of 101 Western Avenue died at 1:30 a.m. today in Gill Memorial Hospital. He had been hospitalized three days and in ill health the past four years.
Mr. Orsini retired in 1957 from Wheeling Steel Corp., where he
had been employed as a blacksmith's helper. He was a member of St. Agnes' Catholic Church of Mingo Junction. He also held membership in the Sons of Italy and the Knights of St. George. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Luigia Pelini Orsini; two sons, Anthony

Friends may call at the Schwerha Mortuary Sunday after 10 a.m. Requiem High Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. William J. Lee will be celebrant. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Golden Wedding - Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Orsini
The 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Orsini appeared in the Steubenville (Ohio) Herald Star on April 22, 1957
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Orsini of 434 Linden Ave. will observe their golden wedding anniversary Thursday. A mass will be said in honor of the couple Sunday, April 28, in St. Anthony's Church, where they are members. Both Mr. and Mrs. Orsini are natives of Pettorano sul Gizio, Italy, where they were married April 25, 1907. They have resided in the Steubenville vicinity for about 35 years. Mr. Orsini, a veteran of World War I, is a retired carpenter at the Liberty Paper Board Co. The couple has six children. Their children are Patsy Orsini, John Orsini, Walter Orsini and Mrs. John Juliano, all of Steubenville, and Mrs. Orlando Cellini and Mrs. Albert Valles of Weirton.
