FOLLANSBEE — Anthony Cocco, 77, of 755 Virginia Avenue, die at 9 a.m. Monday in St. John Hospital. He had been a patient since Saturday. Mr. Cocco was a retired employee of Follansbee Steel Corp., where he was employed as a Hot Mill shearman. He had 45 years of service with Follansbee Steel Corp. Mr. Cocco came to the United States in 1901 and resided at Dover, Ohio until moving to Follansbee in 1905. In 1909 he returned to his native Italy where he married Carmela Ciccolella. A year later the couple came to Follansbee to make their home. At the time of his death, Mr. Cocco was president of Alco Stores Inc. in Follansbee. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church and the Holy Name Society of the church. He was a charter member of the Garibaldi Lodge of Follansbee. He leaves his widow, two sons, Leo Cocco and Mario Cocco both of Follansbee; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Basile and Mrs. John Wallace, both of Follansbee and Mrs. James Oliveto of Wellsburg; 16 grand children and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Domenick Cocco and Alex Cocco and a brother Biaggio Cocco. Mr. Cocco was born May 22, 1885, in Pettorano, Sul Gizio, Italy, a son of the late Demenico and Catherine Tacozza Cocco. Friends may call at the James Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. A Requiem High Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Anthony's Church. The Rev. Fr. John J. Allison will be celebrant. Burial will be made in Oakgrove Cemetery, Follansbee.

FOLLANSBEE — Biaggio Cocco, 80, of 761 Virginia Avenue, died at 7 a.m. today in Gill Memorial Hospital, Steubenville where he had been a patient the past three days. He had been in fai1ing health the past four years. Mr. Cocco was a retired employee of the Follansbee Steel Co. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Follansbee and the Garibaldi Lodge of Follansbee. He leaves a son, Domenico Cocco of Sao Paulo, Brazil; two daughters, Palma and Kathryn, both in Sao Paulo and a brother, Anthony Cocco of Follansbee. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1918. A brother and a sister preceded him in death. Mr. Cocco was born Feb. 2, 1882, in Pettorano, Sul Gizio, Italy, a son of the late Domenico and Catherine Tacozza Cocco. He came to the United States in 1911. Friends may call at the James Funeral Home from 7 to 9 tonight; from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m to
9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. (As a side note, Biaggo was the brother of Anthony who married my great aunt Carmela Ciccoella)

Golden Wedding - Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Cocco
The 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Cocco appeared in the Steubenville (Ohio) Herald Star on September 16, 1959.

Mr. Cocco was employed at the Follansbee Steel Corporation for 45 years working as hot mill shearman. He is now the owner of the
Alco Furniture & Appliance Company at 744 Main Street, Follansbee. They are members of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Mr. Cocco is one of the three surviving charter members of the Garibaldi lodge and a member of the Holy Name Society. Mrs. Cocco is a member of St. Lucy's Guild, Altar and Rosary Society and Sisters of the Garibaldi. They are the parents of two sons, Leo Cocco, 761 Virginia Avenue, and Mario Cocco, 933 Virginia

Sunday, September 20. A family dinner will be held in the residence at 1 p.m. and "Open House" will be held at the Follansbee Community House, with a buffet dinner between 4 and 8 o'clock. Arrangements are being made by their children and all their many friends are being invited to attend. Mr. Cocco came to America from Pettorano, Sul Gizio, Italy, in 1901 and lived in Dover. Ohio, until 1905 at which time he came to Follansbee. In 1909 he returned to Italy to marry the former Carmela Ciccolella
and after one year they came to Follansbee to make their home. Mr. Cocco was employed at the Follansbee Steel Corporation for 45 years working as hot mill shearman. He is now the owner of the

Mrs. John Wallace of Follansbee, and Mrs. James Oliveto, of Wellsburg. Two sons, Domenick and Alex are deceased. They have 15 grandchildren and one great grand daughter.
