The 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Pasquale la Folla appeared in the Steubenville (Ohio) Herald Star on May 6, 1959.
A family dinner will be held Sunday in DiFederico's Restaurant in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Pasquale la Folla of 1229 Oregon Avenue. A special mass in honor of the couple will be said Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church. The couple was married May 6, 1909 in the Roman Catholic Church in Pettorano sul Gizio, Italy. Mrs. la Folla is the former Filomena Lancia, daughter of the late Achille and Jacoba Lancia. She was born April 3, 1885 in Italy. Mr. la Folla is a son of the late Liberato and Crisenzo la Folla. He was born May 17, 1886 in Italy. Mr. la Folla came to this country in 1902. He returned to Italy in 1909, married and returned to the United States in 1910. The couple resided in Steubenville for a short time and then moved to Minnesota. They returned to Steubenville in 1914 and have resided in the community since. Mr. la Folla was employed at the old La Belle Iron Works, which later became Wheeling Steel Corporation. He later worked at the Pope plant of Weirton Steel Co. He worked for Weirton Steel for 25 years before becoming disabled in 1937. He is a member of the 25 Year Club of Weirton Steel. Mr. and Mrs. la Folla are members of St. Anthony's Church. Mrs. la Folla is a member of the Daughters of Italy and Mr. la Folla is a member of the Sons of Italy. They are the parents of four sons, Gene De Fallo of Biloxi, Mississippi, James M. De Fallo, Albert De Fallo and William De Fallo, all of Steubenville; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Mamie) Ippoliti and seven grandchildren. One son is deceased. (Note: I am aware that the parents last name and the children are different, but the newspaper listed it this way.)
