The 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Trombetta appeared in the Steubenville (Ohio) Herald Star on April 30, 1962
A mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 2, at 7 a.m. in St. Agnes' Catholic Church in Mingo Junction in observance of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander D. Trombetta of 113 Scharlotte Avenue Mingo Junction. The Rev. Fr. William A. Young will be celebrant. Open house will be held Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the family residence. A family dinner will be held Sunday, May 6 in Hoobler's Tea Room. Mr. Trombetta and the former Mary Tristani were married May 2, 1912, in the Mothers' Catholic Church in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Provience Aquila, Italy, by the late Rev. Fr. Eugenie Amorosi. They came to the United States in 1922. They lived in Toronto for a year and a half before moving to Mingo Junction in 1924 where they have since resided. Mr. Trombetta has been employed by the Wheeling Steel Corp., Mingo Plant, for the past 17 years. He was previously employed by the old Carnegie - Illinois Steel Corp. Mr. and Mrs. Trombetta are members of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Mingo Junction. They are the parents of eight children, six of whom are living. They are Albert Trombetta, Joseph Trombetta and Delmo Trombetta, all of Mingo Junction; Mrs. Joseph Cosgrove of Orem, Utah; Mrs. Dom Tonacchio of Weirton and Alex Trombetta Jr., a student at Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind. All of their children are planning to attend except Mrs. Cosgrove of Utah. They have eight grandchildren.
