Rocco Berarducci

The obit of Rocco Berarducci appeared in the Steubenville (Ohio) Herald Star on July 7, 1959.
Rocco Berarducci, 67, of 309 Hollywood Blvd., a Steubenville insurance agent and real estate broker, died at 6:45 pm.  Monday in Ohio Valley Hospital.  He had been ill a week.  He was born April 29, 1892, in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Province of Aquila, Italy, the son of the late John and Anna D'Emilio Berarducci.  Mr. Berarducci came to the United States in 1903 and had resided
in Steubenville since that time.  He had operated the Rocco Berarducci Insurance Agency in the First National Bank Building for 30 years.  Mr. Berarducci was president of Local 223 of the American Federation of Musicians and an organizer and member of the American Federation of Musicians Band.  He was a member and past president of the Steubenville Real Estate Board, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Right Worshipful Master of Osiris Lodge 590 Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Steubenville, a member of the International Co-Masonry, and
a member and past - president of the board of trustees of Our Savior United Presbyterian Church.  Mr. Berarducci was formerly associated with the Internal Revenue Service and had served as street commissioner and Jefferson County sealer of weights and measures.  He was married to the former Lucy DiBenedetto, July 31, 1913, in Steubenville.  Mr. Berarducci leaves his widow; two sons, William Berarducci of Columbus and Robert Berarduci, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Anna) DeMayo and Mrs. James (Flora) Gillette, both of Steubenville; three sisters, Miss Mary Berarducci and Mrs. Louise Costantini, both of Steubenville, and Mrs. Julia Johnson of Detroit, and eight grandchildren. A brother, Joseph Berarducci and a sister, Mrs. Gentilina Giannamore, preceded him in death.  Friends may call at the Mosti Funeral Home after 8 p.m. today and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Our Savior United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Mr. Alfred D'Aliberti will officiate.
Burial will be in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates.

    This was my great grandfather and Anna was my great great grandmother. My grandmother was Flora Berarducci Gillette. I have some pictures and paper clippings that might be interesting to all. I alot of the families mentioned on this site.
